LOWEKCHO represents a once-majestic landscape—a vast expanse of forested mountains, deserts, rivers, and wildlife—that has been ravaged by the encroachment of large pharmaceutical and food conglomerates. These companies, with government collaboration, seized control of the area, expelling indigenous populations and turning the landscape into a heavily secured, secretive hub of bio-product development and research. Harman’s paintings offer a haunting glimpse into this dystopian world, where ghost towns are all that remain of a once-thriving region.
