The Waiting Room Project NFT
A collection of 500+ sketches released in increments of 100. In 2016 the love of my life was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Over the last 5 years after surgery the ongoing treatment resulted in many long hours in waiting rooms crowded with people from all walks of life. Cancer does not discriminate. After 50 years painting I found myself out of the studio and into the waiting room with a lot of time on my hands. Without my paints & brushes, I opened up the notes app on my iPhone which became my on hand canvas and I began to draw as I waited. There were limitations to its use which included my fat fingers and the iPhone's small 'real estate'. Each person was unaware they were the subject of an artistic endeavour and would change pose or leave without warning, so the length of time I had varied greatly and is reflected in the drawings. Sometimes I had only a few moments to sketch & I developed a 'Haiku' drawing approach. 50% of the mint will be donated to the Mark Hughes Foundation.
