Headwalk NFT

Initial 293 portraits were carved on granite paving stones, based on selected sketches from 2012-2018 sketchbooks. I had an idea to make impressions in the technique of direct printing from each stone. I applied black ink and printed by hand on the finest rice paper from Japan. I see special significance in this contrast of hard granite with thin paper: being opposites, they favourably complement each other's features. The stones represent a symbol of rough and negative reality, while the prints are the fragile and ephemeral trace left behind. Now, digital 1/1 tokens of the prints penetrate a third realm – realm of the Metaverse.
